The Portuguese surfer Tiago Pires posed his best result of the season finishing equal third after being defeated by Bruce Irons in the semifinals of the Rip Curl Search Pro, the 6th event of the 2008 ASP WCT Tour, that happened Somewhere in Indonesia waves. Bruce Irons was the winner of the event.

Tiago Pires is a surfing sensation in Portugal and a rising star on the international scene. He’s a two-time winner of the Buondi Billabong Pro (’05, ‘06) in his hometown of Ericeira, and finished 5th on the ASP WQS in 2007. 2008 is the first year of Tiago Pires in the WCT Tour.

All you out there… pay attention to what Slater has said when defeated by Tiago: …” he´s one of the World´s best barrel riders”… this says all, this guy will boost, JParko was an “assie” in Teahupoo, the best is yet to come…
